Magazine Bay

More information about Magazine Bay.

Magazine Bay is almost void of sand. Instead, its beach is covered in small, rounded pebbles. If you look among the rocks, you can also sometimes find sea glass (broken glass that has been washed cloudy and smooth). The water laps gently at this beach, it's the perfect place to practice those rock skimming skills.

Magazine Bay is nestled between a short cliff face on all sides. The sand is actually small pebbles washed smooth by the constant lapping water. It provides a fantastic little spot for some squiding off the rocks, as well as a sheltered place to swim. Magazine Bay is home to a cave at the rear of the bay, half way up the cliff face. Explosives were kept in the cave for the quarry which the Point Turton Caravan Park now sits, prompting its name. Magazine Bay is approximately 100m long and has a steep set of stairs down to the pebbles.
